  • Great for Entertaining: Perfect as party appetizers or game day snacks—just add your favorite dipping sauces.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1½ pounds chicken tenders
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil (if baking or air frying)

DIRECTIONS

  • Step No.1: Prepare the breading stations
Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, health benefits of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper; another with beaten eggs; and a third with panko, parmesan, and ranch seasoning.

  • Step No.2: Coat the chicken tenders
Dredge each chicken tender in the seasoned flour, dip into the egg, and then press into the parmesan-ranch breadcrumb mixture until well coated.

  • Step No.3: Choose your cooking method
To bake, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and place tenders on a greased baking rack over a tray. Spray lightly with oil and bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.

  • To air fry, cook at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, flipping once. To pan-fry, heat ¼ inch oil in a skillet and fry tenders for 3-4 minutes per side.

  • Step No.4: Check for doneness
Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Tenders should be golden brown and crispy on the outside.

  • Step No.5: Serve immediately
Remove tenders from heat and rest briefly. Serve hot with dipping sauces like ranch, honey mustard, or barbecue.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

  • Use Fresh Parmesan: Grate it fresh for the best flavor and better adherence to the breading.

  • Don't Skip the Flour: It helps the egg and breadcrumb layers stick more effectively.

  • Preheat the Oven or air fryer cooking: Starting hot ensures an instantly crispy crust.

  • Avoid Overcrowding: Give each tender space while baking or frying for even cooking and crispiness.

  • Use a Wire Rack: Elevates tenders during baking, promoting airflow and an evenly crispy exterior.

  • Chill Before Cooking: Let coated tenders rest 10 minutes in the fridge so the breading adheres better.

  • Season Every Layer: Add a pinch of salt to each component—flour, egg, and breadcrumbs—for maximum flavor.

VARIATIONS

  • Spicy Kick: Add cayenne or hot sauce to the flour or egg for a heat boost.

  • gluten-free diet Option: Swap all-purpose flour and panko for certified gluten-free alternatives.

  • Buttermilk Brine: Soak tenders in buttermilk for a few hours to enhance tenderness and flavor.

  • Cheesy Upgrade: Add shredded mozzarella or cheddar to the breadcrumb mix for extra cheesiness.

  • Lemon Herb Twist: Mix lemon zest and dried herbs into the breadcrumb blend for a refreshing, aromatic variation.

  • Buffalo Style: Toss cooked tenders in buffalo sauce and serve with blue cheese dressing.

  • Herb Ranch Blend: Use homemade ranch seasoning for a more personalized and lower-sodium flavor.

What dipping sauces go best?

Ranch, honey mustard, BBQ, buffalo, or garlic aioli are all excellent choices for pairing with these tenders.

About Sana Umer

I'm Sana Umer — the home cook behind every recipe on For Foodie Friends. I'm a Pakistani-American mom of two based in the US, and I've been cooking seriously for about a decade now, mostly because feeding a family every day is the fastest way to learn how to actually cook.

I'm completely self-taught. I learned by watching my mother in Pakistan, by burning a lot of food in my early years, and by paying attention to which recipes worked and which ones needed fixing. I don't specialize in just one cuisine — I cook the Pakistani dishes I grew up with, the American desserts my kids request, weeknight dinners, holiday roasts, and everything in between.

Every recipe is personally tested in my own kitchen, every word is written by me, and every photo is taken of food I actually made.

Hi, I'm Sana Umer — the home cook, recipe tester, and writer behind For Foodie Friends.

I'm a Pakistani-American mom based in the US. I learned to cook in two kitchens — my mother's in Pakistan, where I grew up watching whole spices bloom in oil, and my own kitchen now, where I cook for my husband and kids.

Every recipe on this site has been tested in my own kitchen, often more times than I'd like to admit, before it ever made it here. I cook a little bit of everything: the Pakistani comfort food I grew up with, the American desserts my kids beg for, weeknight dinners that need to come together fast, and the holiday spreads that take all day.

If a recipe is on this site, it earned its place. No ghostwriters, no AI shortcuts, no copy-paste from somewhere else — just real recipes from a real kitchen, written to actually work the first time you make them.

Welcome to my corner of the internet.

— Sana
