Saltine Cracker Toffee is a sweet and salty treat that’s incredibly easy to make. With layers of buttery toffee, crunchy crackers, and melted chocolate, it's a perfect holiday or anytime snack that everyone loves.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 sleeve about 40 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts sea salt, sprinkles

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

Layer the Crackers:

  • Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Make the Toffee:

  • In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 3 minutes while stirring constantly.

Pour and Bake:

  • Pour the hot toffee over the crackers and spread evenly. Bake for 5 minutes, or until the toffee is bubbling.

Add Chocolate:

  • Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 5 minutes, then spread melted chocolate evenly.

Add Toppings and Chill:

  • Sprinkle with optional toppings. Let cool completely, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours until set.

Break into Pieces:

  • Break into bite-sized pieces and enjoy!

Notes

Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
Variations: Use white or dark chocolate, and top with crushed peppermint, toffee bits, or pretzels.
