Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar optional

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly butter it.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Prepare Wet Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined. If you prefer a sweeter bread, stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar.

Combine Ingredients:

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the bread dense.

Bake the Bread:

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top of the bread begins to brown too quickly, cover it with aluminum foil and continue baking.

Cool:

  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve:

  • Slice and serve this soft, sweet bread with butter or enjoy it on its own with a hot drink!
