  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slices Texas toast bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

Cook the Beef:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic until beef is browned and vegetables are soft. Drain excess fat.

Add Sauce Ingredients:

  • Spoon the sloppy joe mixture generously onto toasted Texas toast slices. Serve warm.
