For the Steak Bites:

  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water optional for thickening
  • 1 tablespoon butter

For Garnish:

  • Chopped green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak: Pat steak cubes dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak bites and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, and vinegar. Stir and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Thicken the Glaze: If desired, add cornstarch slurry and stir until sauce thickens slightly.
  • Combine & Finish: Return steak bites to the pan and toss in the sauce until coated and glossy. Add butter and stir to melt.
  • Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or veggies.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: You can prep the sauce ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 3 days.
  • Customizing the Flavor: Add crushed red pepper for spice or swap honey for maple syrup for a different sweetness.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve with jasmine rice, roasted vegetables, or inside lettuce wraps.
  • Storage Tips: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet before serving.
