1 sheet puff pastry thawed ½ cup strawberry preserves or jam 1 egg for egg wash 1 tablespoon water Powdered sugar for dusting optional

Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare Pastry: Roll out puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out 12 hearts.
Add Filling: Place a small spoonful of strawberry preserves in the center of half the hearts. Top with remaining hearts and press edges to seal.
Egg Wash: Beat egg with water. Brush tops of pastries with egg wash.
Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
Finish: Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
