SOFT TENDER SLOW-COOKER PULLED BBQ PORK FOR SENIORS

Ingredients
  

For the Pulled BBQ Pork:

  • 3 lb pork shoulder (boneless)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups BBQ sauce (mild)
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

Prepare Slow Cooker

  • Place sliced onion and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add pork shoulder on top.

Season Pork

  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and brown sugar evenly over the pork.

Add Liquids

  • Pour BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and broth around the pork.

Slow Cook

  • Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours until pork is very tender and easy to shred.

Shred Gently

  • Remove pork and shred using two forks. Return to slow cooker and mix with juices until soft and moist.

Serve

  • Serve warm on soft buns, mashed potatoes, or rice for an easy-to-eat meal.
