Ingredients
  

For the Cobbler Base:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups hot water

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.

Mix the Base:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until a smooth batter forms.

Pour Batter:

  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared dish.

Add Topping:

  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle it evenly over the batter.

Add Hot Water:

  • Gently pour hot water over the top (do not stir). It will bake into a sauce underneath.

Bake:

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden and the cobbler is set. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Serving Tip: Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • Custom Flavour: Add a dash of nutmeg or use maple syrup instead of vanilla for a twist.
  • Storage: Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave before serving.
