Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk about 110°F
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg

For the Rosemary Honey Butter:

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead and Rise:

  • Knead dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.

Shape the Rolls:

  • Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape into balls and place in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

Second Rise:

  • Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.

Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Brush with Butter:

  • Mix honey, melted butter, chopped rosemary, and a pinch of salt. Brush warm rolls with the mixture before serving.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: You can shape the rolls and refrigerate overnight. Let them come to room temperature and rise before baking.
  • Serving Tip: Best served warm with extra rosemary honey butter on the side.
  • Freezing: Baked rolls can be frozen for up to 1 month. Reheat wrapped in foil at 300°F for 10–15 minutes.
