Ingredients
  

For Pumpkin Spice Eggnog:

  • 2 cups milk whole or 2%
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup pumpkin puree
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

For Topping (Optional):

  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Ground cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish

Instructions
 

Heat Mixture:

  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together milk, heavy cream, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and nutmeg. Heat over medium until warm, not boiling.

Temper Eggs:

  • In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks. Slowly add warm pumpkin mixture to yolks while whisking to temper.

Thicken Eggnog:

  • Return mixture to saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.

Finish and Serve:

  • Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and let cool slightly. Serve warm or chilled.

Optional Topping:

  • Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
