Ingredients

For the Burgers:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns

Optional Toppings:

  • Sliced pepperoni
  • Sautéed mushrooms
  • Bell peppers
  • Black olives

Instructions

Make the Patties:

  • In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix gently and shape into 4 burger patties.

Cook the Burgers:

  • Grill or pan-fry the patties over medium heat for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

Add Cheese and Sauce:

  • During the last minute of cooking, spoon pizza sauce over each patty and top with shredded mozzarella. Cover the pan or grill to melt the cheese.

Toast the Buns:

  • Lightly toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster for a crisp texture.

Assemble:

  • Place each cheesy burger patty on a bun. Add optional toppings like pepperoni or sautéed vegetables. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Variations: Try ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Make Ahead: Patties can be prepped and refrigerated up to 24 hours in advance.
  • Serving Tip: Great with a side of fries, salad, or sweet potato wedges.
  • Storage: Store leftover patties in the fridge for up to 3 days.
