Pico de Gallo is a fresh, chunky salsa made with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapeños, and lime. It’s vibrant, zesty, and perfect as a topping or dip for tacos, chips, grilled meats, or salads.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 medium ripe tomatoes diced
  • ½ medium white onion finely chopped
  • 1 –2 jalapeño peppers finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime about 2 tablespoons
  • Salt to taste start with ½ teaspoon

Instructions
 

Combine Ingredients:

  • In a medium bowl, mix together tomatoes, onion, jalapeños, and cilantro.

Add Lime and Salt:

  • Squeeze in fresh lime juice and sprinkle with salt. Mix well.

Let It Rest:

  • For best flavour, let sit for 10–15 minutes at room temperature before serving to allow flavours to blend.

Notes

Make Ahead: Best served fresh, but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Additions: Try adding diced avocado, mango, or cucumber for a twist.
Spice Level: Adjust jalapeños to your preferred heat. Use serranos for more spice.
Serving Ideas: Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, grilled chicken, or as a salad topper.
Drain if Needed: If too watery, drain excess liquid before serving.
