This Overnight French Toast Casserole is the ultimate make-ahead breakfast. Made with thick bread soaked in a cinnamon-vanilla custard, it’s baked until golden and topped with a sweet, buttery streusel—perfect for holidays and brunches.

Ingredients
  

For the Casserole:

  • 1 loaf French bread cubed (about 10 cups)
  • 8 large eggs
  • cups whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For the Streusel Topping:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter cubed

Instructions
 

Assemble Casserole:

  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Add cubed bread in an even layer. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Pour over the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Make Streusel:

  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Refrigerate until ready to bake.

Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Sprinkle streusel evenly over the casserole. Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden and set.
