Ingredients
  

  • 1 25 oz bag frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 24 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish optional

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Cook the Meat:

  • In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Mix the Cheese Layer:

  • In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, and 1 cup mozzarella until smooth.

Assemble the Casserole:

  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the baking dish. Layer half of the frozen ravioli, then half the cream cheese mixture, half the remaining meat sauce, and 1 cup mozzarella. Repeat the layers. Top with Parmesan cheese.

Bake:

  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake another 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Serve:

  • Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Make Ahead:
Assemble the casserole up to a day in advance. Refrigerate and bake when ready.
Freezing:
This dish freezes well. Cover tightly and freeze before baking. Thaw overnight and bake as directed.
Variations:
Use spinach ravioli for a veggie twist or swap the beef for ground turkey.
