Ingredients

For the Fish Fillets:

  • 4 white fish fillets such as tilapia, cod, or haddock
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

For the Lemon Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Fish:

  • Season the fish fillets with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the fish fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Lemon Butter Sauce:

  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant. Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 2 minutes to thicken slightly.

Combine the Fish and Sauce:

  • Return the cooked fish fillets to the skillet and spoon the lemon butter sauce over the fish. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Serve:

  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately with your choice of sides, such as rice, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad.
