HOMEMADE BUTTERMILK BISCUITS

Ingredients
  

For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
  • ¾ cup buttermilk

Instructions
 

Prep Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Cut in Butter:

  • Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or fingers until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add Buttermilk:

  • Add buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Shape Biscuits:

  • Turn dough onto a floured surface. Pat to 1-inch thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter.

Bake and Serve:

  • Place biscuits on prepared sheet. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
