Ingredients
  

  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger thinly sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Juice of 1 orange or lemon (optional)
  • Optional garnish: orange slices, lemon wedges, or cinnamon stick

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine water, ginger slices, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Strain the infusion into cups. Add honey or maple syrup and citrus juice if desired.
  • Garnish with orange slices or a cinnamon stick for added flair.

  • Make Ahead: Prepare the infusion up to 24 hours in advance and store it in the fridge. Reheat or enjoy it chilled.
