Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless pork chops about 1-inch thick
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth
  • ½ cup shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Season Pork Chops: Season pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Sear Pork Chops: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork chops 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Cook Onions: In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook 5–7 minutes until caramelized. Add garlic and thyme; cook 1 more minute.
  • Add Broth & Simmer: Pour in broth and bring to a simmer. Return pork chops to skillet. Cover and cook 8–10 minutes until pork chops are cooked through.
  • Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese over pork chops. Cover for 2–3 minutes until melted.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
