FRENCH ONION BEEF AND NOODLES

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound beef sirloin or stew meat cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 10.5 oz can French onion soup
  • cups beef broth
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese optional, for topping
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

Sear the Beef:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season beef with salt and pepper. Sear until browned. Remove and set aside.

Caramelise Onions:

  • In the same skillet, melt butter. Add sliced onions and cook for 10–12 minutes until soft and golden. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.

Add Liquids:

  • Return beef to the pan. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, French onion soup, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.

Cook Noodles:

  • Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and stir into the beef and onion mixture.

Serve:

  • Top with shredded cheese if using, cover until melted. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra richness, use Gruyère cheese on top.
  • Make it creamy by stirring in a splash of heavy cream before serving.
