FLAG CAKE VARIATIONS (THE MOST FESTIVE 4TH OF JULY DESSERT)
Sana Umer
Flag Cake Variations bring you multiple festive ways to make a patriotic 4th of July dessert, from classic sheet cakes to poke cakes and no-bake versions. Each design features red, white, and blue fruit or frosting arranged like an American flag.
Prepare cake mix according to package instructions and bake in a 9x13-inch pan. Let cool completely.
Make Frosting:
Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
Frost Cake:
Spread frosting evenly over cooled cake.
Create Flag Design:
Place blueberries in the top-left corner to form the ‘stars’ section. Arrange strawberries in rows to form red stripes, leaving white frosting stripes in between.
Variations:
Try poke cake style with gelatin, or use whipped topping instead of cream cheese frosting for a lighter version.
Chill & Serve:
Refrigerate for 1–2 hours before slicing into squares.
Notes
Use a ruler or toothpicks for clean flag lines.
Best made the same day for freshest fruit.
Swap berries for raspberries or blackberries if desired.
