Firecracker Rice Krispie Treats are a festive, no-bake dessert perfect for the 4th of July. Loaded with red, white, and blue sprinkles and popping candy for a fun crackling surprise in every bite!

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup red white, and blue sprinkles
  • ¼ cup popping candy Pop Rocks, divided
  • Optional: white chocolate drizzle or candy melts for topping

Instructions
 

Melt Marshmallows:

  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla.

Mix Cereal:

  • Remove from heat and quickly stir in cereal. Let cool for 1–2 minutes before gently folding in half of the popping candy and sprinkles.

Press & Top:

  • Press the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch pan. Top with remaining sprinkles and popping candy. Drizzle with melted white chocolate if using.

Cool & Cut:

  • Let set at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Popping Tip: Add popping candy after the mixture has cooled slightly to preserve the popping effect.
  • Make Ahead: Best enjoyed the day of for maximum crackle, but can be stored in an airtight container up to 2 days.
  • Custom Colours: Use themed sprinkles for other holidays and events.
  • Serving Suggestion: Wrap individually for party favours or picnic baskets.
