Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs cut into bite-sized pieces
  • cup flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for browning
  • ¾ cup orange marmalade
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar optional
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cooked white rice for serving
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Coat and Brown Chicken:

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper, then toss with flour to coat. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown chicken pieces (about 2–3 minutes per side). This step adds extra flavor but can be skipped.

Mix Sauce:

  • In a bowl, stir together orange marmalade, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar (if using), and garlic powder.

Slow Cook:

  • Place browned chicken in the slow cooker. Pour sauce over the top and stir to coat. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours.

Serve:

  • Serve warm over cooked white rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: Great for meal prep—store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Variations: Add steamed broccoli or snap peas before serving.
  • Serving Suggestions: Pairs well with jasmine rice or stir-fried veggies.
  • Allergy-Friendly: Use gluten-free soy sauce and flour if needed.
