Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf French bread about 12 ounces, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup butter melted (for drizzling)
  • Powdered sugar and maple syrup for serving

Instructions
 

Prepare Bread:

  • Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place the cubed bread evenly into the dish.

Mix Custard:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Assemble Casserole:

  • Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread. Press the bread gently to soak it all in.

Chill or Bake:

  • Cover and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 30 minutes if baking right away).

Preheat Oven:

  • When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake:

  • Drizzle melted butter over the top. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.

Serve:

  • Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup before serving.
