Ingredients

  • 12 large marshmallows
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup powdered sugar for dusting
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

Prepare the Oil:

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

Make the Batter:

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add milk and vanilla extract. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until smooth.

Coat the Marshmallows:

  • Dip each marshmallow into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.

Fry the Marshmallows:

  • Carefully place the battered marshmallows into the hot oil. Fry for 2–3 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy.

Drain and Serve:

  • Remove the marshmallows from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serving Suggestions: Serve with chocolate dipping sauce or sprinkle with cinnamon sugar for extra flavor.
Storage: Best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 day (they lose some of their crispness).
Freezing: Freeze coated marshmallows before frying for a quick and easy treat later on.
