CROISSANT BAKED FRENCH TOAST WITH STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM CHEESE
Sana Umer
This Croissant Baked French Toast is filled with juicy strawberries and creamy pockets of cream cheese. It's a delicious, make-ahead breakfast or brunch dish that’s perfect for weekends, holidays, or when hosting guests!
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer half the croissant pieces, then scatter half the cream cheese cubes and sliced strawberries. Repeat layers.
Step 2: Make the Custard
In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, maple syrup, and vanilla. Pour evenly over the croissant mixture. Lightly press down to help it soak in.
Step 3: Chill or Bake
Cover and refrigerate overnight (recommended), or let sit for 15 minutes before baking.
Step 4: Bake
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes or until golden and set. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Step 5: Serve
Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with extra maple syrup or a dollop of whipped cream.
Notes
Use day-old croissants for best texture.
Swap strawberries with blueberries or raspberries.
For a richer flavour, add a touch of almond extract.
