For the Steaks:

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Gravy:

  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 ¾ cups beef broth
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms optional

Instructions

Form Patties:

  • In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Form into 6 oval patties.

Brown Patties:

  • (Optional) Lightly brown patties in a skillet over medium heat, 2 minutes per side, to enhance flavour and help them hold together.

Layer in Crockpot:

  • Place sliced onions and mushrooms in the bottom of the crockpot. Arrange patties over them.

Make Gravy:

  • In a bowl, whisk together brown gravy mix, cream of mushroom soup, and beef broth. Pour over the patties.

Cook:

  • Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours, or until patties are cooked through and gravy is thickened.

Serve:

  • Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: Patties can be prepared the night before and stored in the fridge.
  • Variations: Use ground turkey or add bell peppers for a twist.
  • Serving Suggestions: Delicious with mashed potatoes and green beans.
