These Crockpot Garlic Mashed Potatoes are rich, buttery, and full of roasted garlic flavour. Perfect for freeing up stove space during holidays, this no-boil method makes creamy mashed potatoes with minimal effort.
5lbsrusset or Yukon gold potatoespeeled and cut into chunks
5–6 cloves garlicminced
1cupchicken or vegetable broth
½cupunsalted buttercubed
1cupsour cream or cream cheese
½–1 cup whole milk or heavy creamwarm
Salt and black pepperto taste
Chopped chivesoptional, for garnish
Instructions
Load the Crockpot:
Add potatoes, minced garlic, broth, and butter to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6–7 hours, until potatoes are very tender.
Mash the Potatoes:
Once tender, mash directly in the crockpot using a potato masher or hand mixer until smooth.
Stir in Creaminess:
Add sour cream and gradually stir in warm milk until desired consistency is reached. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Keep Warm & Serve:
Switch slow cooker to warm setting until ready to serve. Garnish with chives if desired.
