These Crispy Mini Blooming Onions are golden, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Made in the air fryer, they’re a healthier, crunchy snack or appetizer, ideal for parties, game days, or family gatherings.
Prep Onions: Peel onions and cut into 8–12 petals, keeping the base intact. Rinse and pat dry.
Prepare Breading: In one bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk.
Coat Onions: Dip each onion into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring all petals are coated.
Air Fry: Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Spray onions lightly with cooking spray. Place in the basket, petals facing up. Cook for 12–15 minutes, turning halfway if needed, until golden brown and crispy.
Serve: Remove carefully and serve with your favourite dipping sauce, such as ranch or spicy mayo.
Notes
Make Ahead: Coat onions in flour and store in fridge for up to 2 hours before air frying.
Serving Suggestions: Serve with ranch, spicy aioli, or ketchup.
Tips: Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches for extra crispiness.
