Ingredients
  

For the Custard:

  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice

Instructions
 

Heat Milk:

  • In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until warm but not boiling.

Mix Eggs and Sugar:

  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.

Combine Milk and Eggs:

  • Gradually pour warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent curdling.

Cook Custard:

  • Return mixture to saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Add Flavoring:

  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice.

Chill and Serve:

  • Pour into serving ramekins. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
