This Cream Cheese Banana Bread is soft, moist, and rich with sweet banana flavour and a delicious cream cheese layer baked right in the middle. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a comforting snack any time.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
Mix Banana Bread Batter:
In one bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. In another, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, and mashed bananas. Stir in dry ingredients until just combined.
Prepare Cream Cheese Filling:
In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
Layer and Bake:
Pour half of the banana batter into the pan. Add the cream cheese mixture, spreading it gently. Top with remaining banana batter. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Cool and Serve:
Let cool in pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Bananas: The riper, the better—brown spots mean sweet flavour.
Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate up to 5 days.
Freeze: Wrap tightly and freeze for up to 2 months.
Swirls: Lightly swirl the cream cheese layer with a knife for a marbled look.
