Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces bacon chopped
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

Cook Bacon:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels, reserving 2 tablespoons of bacon fat.

Sauté Onion and Garlic:

  • Add onion to the bacon fat and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.

Add Cranberries and Liquids:

  • Stir in cranberries, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, water, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer and Combine:

  • Cook uncovered for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and mixture thickens.

Mix Bacon:

  • Return crispy bacon to the pan and stir to combine. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Serve or Store:

  • Transfer to a jar or bowl. Refrigerate and use within 2 weeks.
