Ingredients
  

For the Classic Chili:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14 oz
  • 1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
  • 1 can kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

Cook Beef:

  • Brown ground beef in a large pot over medium heat. Drain excess grease.

Add Aromatics:

  • Add onion and garlic. Cook until softened, about 3 minutes.

Season:

  • Stir in chili powder, cumin, and paprika. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Simmer:

  • Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, broth, salt, and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.

Notes

  • Toppings: Shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions.
  • Spice Level: Add cayenne or jalapeños for extra heat.
