This cinnamon roll king cake is a fun and easy twist on the Mardi Gras classic. Soft, gooey, and topped with colourful icing, it’s perfect for celebrations or a sweet weekend treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Coloured sugars purple, green, gold for topping
  • Plastic baby charm optional, for tradition

Instructions
 

  • Prepare Dough: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round baking pan.
  • Form Cake: Unroll cinnamon rolls slightly, press edges together in a ring shape on the pan.
  • Fill and Bake: Brush with melted butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon, then bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  • Decorate: Drizzle icing over warm cake and top with coloured sugars.
  • Optional: Hide a small plastic baby inside after baking for tradition.
