Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Make Dough: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and mix. Gradually stir in flour and salt until dough forms.
  • Shape Cookies: Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Press lightly with a fork or hand.
  • Decorate: Add sprinkles or nonpareils if desired.
  • Bake: Bake 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
