Ingredients
  

For the Cookies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For Decoration (Optional):

  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Holiday sprinkles or coloured sugar

Instructions
 

Cream Butter and Sugar:

  • In a large bowl, beat the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla.

Add Dry Ingredients:

  • Gradually add flour, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Chill the Dough:

  • Cover and refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.

Shape and Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten slightly with your fingers. Add sprinkles if using. Bake for 10–12 minutes.

Cool and Finish:

  • Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar once completely cooled.
