  • 1 pound breakfast sausage mild or spicy
  • 1 can 8 oz refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter for cooking sausage

Instructions

Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook Sausage:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it up into small pieces. Drain excess fat and set aside.

Prepare Crescent Dough:

  • Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.

Fill and Roll:

  • Place about 1 tablespoon of cooked sausage (and a sprinkle of cheese if using) at the wide end of each triangle. Roll up dough toward the pointed end.

Bake:

  • Place rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve:

  • Let cool slightly before serving warm.

  • Make Ahead: Assemble and refrigerate before baking.
  • Cheese Options: Use mozzarella or pepper jack for different flavors.
  • Serving Suggestion: Serve with ketchup, maple syrup, or hot sauce.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
