Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
  • ¾ cup warm milk 110°F
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

For the Glaze (Optional):

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 –2 tablespoons lime juice

Instructions

Activate the Yeast:

  • Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

Make the Dough:

  • Stir in butter, egg, and salt. Add flour gradually and knead until smooth. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.

Prepare the Filling:

  • In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, lime juice, zest, sugar, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Let cool.

Shape the Twister:

  • Roll out the dough into a 10×14-inch rectangle. Spread the filling down the centre third. Cut slits along the sides and fold strips over the filling to form a braid.

Second Rise:

  • Cover and let rise for 20–30 minutes.

Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.

Glaze and Serve:

  • Mix powdered sugar and lime juice to make a glaze. Drizzle over the cooled pastry.
