Ingredients

  • 2 cans 16.3 oz each refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

Cook Sausage:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat.

Make Gravy:

  • Sprinkle flour over sausage and stir well. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove raw flour taste.

Add Milk and Seasoning:

  • Gradually whisk in milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer, stirring constantly, until gravy thickens, about 5 minutes.

Prepare Baking Dish:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Cut biscuit dough into quarters and spread evenly in the dish.

Pour Gravy:

  • Pour sausage gravy evenly over the biscuit pieces.

Bake:

  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until biscuits are cooked through and golden on top.

Serve:

  • Let cool slightly before serving.
