Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until combined.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
  • Add Oats and Mix-ins: Stir in oats, chocolate chips, and nuts (if using) until evenly combined.
  • Bake: Spread mixture evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 25–28 minutes, until edges are golden and center is set.
  • Cool and Cut: Allow to cool completely in the pan, then cut into bars.
