Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage such as kielbasa or andouille, sliced into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

STEP NO.1: PREPARE THE SAUSAGE

  • Slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized rounds.

STEP NO.2: SEAR THE SAUSAGE

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage slices and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until browned.

STEP NO.3: MAKE THE BBQ GLAZE

  • In a small bowl, mix BBQ sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.

STEP NO.4: COAT THE SAUSAGE

  • Reduce heat to low and pour the BBQ glaze over the sausage bites. Stir to coat evenly and simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.

STEP NO.5: SERVE HOT

  • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately with toothpicks for easy snacking!

Notes

  • Sausage Choice: Use kielbasa, andouille, or any smoked sausage for the best flavor.
  • Spicier Version: Add red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
  • Sticky Glaze: Let the sauce simmer longer for a thicker, caramelized coating.
  • Make Ahead: Cook the sausage and sauce separately, then reheat together before serving.
  • Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sausage Bites: Add 1 teaspoon hot sauce and 1 tablespoon maple syrup.
  • Honey Garlic Sausage Bites: Swap BBQ sauce for honey and soy sauce with extra garlic.
  • Bacon-Wrapped Sausage Bites: Wrap each slice in bacon and bake until crispy before glazing.
  • Crockpot BBQ Sausage Bites: Toss everything in a slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours.
