Ingredients

  • 1 round sourdough loaf
  • 1 8-ounce wheel of brie cheese
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce homemade or store-bought
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Crackers toasted bread, or fruit for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the Bread Bowl: Cut a circle on the top of the sourdough loaf and remove the centre to create a bowl shape.
  • Add the Brie: Slice the top rind off the brie wheel and place the cheese inside the hollowed bread bowl.
  • Add Cranberry Sauce: Spoon cranberry sauce evenly over the brie, then drizzle with honey and sprinkle rosemary on top.
  • Bake: Brush the outside of the bread with olive oil. Bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve: Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm with crackers, toasted bread pieces, or fruit slices.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: Assemble the bread bowl with brie and cranberry sauce up to 4 hours ahead. Bake just before serving.
  • Custom Flavours: Add chopped nuts or a sprinkle of brown sugar for extra texture and sweetness.
  • Serving Suggestions: Perfect for Christmas parties, New Year’s Eve, or a cosy movie night appetiser.
  • Storage Tips: Best served fresh. If needed, reheat leftovers in the oven until cheese is melty again.
