Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed
  • 8 –10 slices of bacon halved
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: balsamic glaze or extra brown sugar for drizzling

Instructions

Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Blanch the Beans:

  • Boil green beans for 3–4 minutes until just tender. Drain and transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking. Pat dry.

Make Bundles:

  • Gather 6–8 green beans and wrap with a half slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick if needed.

Season and Glaze:

  • Place bundles on the prepared baking sheet. Mix melted butter, brown sugar, garlic, salt, and pepper. Brush mixture over each bundle.

Bake:

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until bacon is crispy and beans are tender. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: Blanch green beans and wrap them with bacon the night before. Store in the fridge and bake before serving.
  • Customise: Use turkey bacon or add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper for heat.
  • Serving Tip: Perfect for holiday tables, potlucks, or elegant dinner sides.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
