  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Wooden or metal skewers
  • Optional: extra BBQ sauce for basting

Instructions

Marinate Chicken:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add chicken pieces and toss to coat. Cover and marinate for 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge).

Prepare Skewers:

  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes. Thread marinated chicken onto skewers.

Preheat Grill:

  • Heat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates.

Grill Chicken:

  • Place skewers on the grill. Cook for 12–15 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with extra BBQ sauce, until chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.

Serve:

  • Remove from grill and serve hot with coleslaw, corn on the cob, or potato salad.

Notes

  • Grill Alternative: Bake in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for 20–25 minutes, turning once.
  • Spice It Up: Add a pinch of cayenne or use spicy BBQ sauce for heat.
  • Veggie Option: Add bell peppers or red onions to skewers for color and flavor.
  • Make Ahead: Marinate chicken ahead and keep refrigerated until ready to grill.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid drying.
