Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups puffed rice or cereal
  • ½ cup roasted peanuts
  • ¼ cup cashews
  • 2 tablespoons oil vegetable or olive
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 –6 curry leaves optional
  • ¼ teaspoon asafoetida optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat the Oil: In a large pan over medium heat, heat oil. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds.
  • Add Aromatics: Stir in curry leaves and asafoetida (if using) until fragrant.
  • Add Nuts: Add peanuts and cashews; roast until golden and crisp, stirring frequently.
  • Mix Spices: Reduce heat; add turmeric and chili powder. Stir quickly to coat nuts without burning.
  • Combine with Puffed Rice: Add puffed rice and mix thoroughly for 2–3 minutes on low heat until evenly coated.
  • Cool and Serve: Turn off heat; let mixture cool completely before serving or storing to maintain crunchiness.
